The FBI is so full of shit. We all know they were after precedent and the tech to break into any and every phone they felt like. They just had no idea the shit-storm they conjured up. Nevermind the former Director of something or another at the NSA saying the NSA could do it but the FBI never asked, along with multiple tech outlets repeatedly saying that the FBI could do it, embarassing the FBI publicly.

Yeah, they were after precedent, but they were so ham fisted about it, they came out looking stupid. And now they've gotten their evidentiary hearing dismissed because they probably realized it would be a debacle for them.

The general collective in response to the FBI:
Curious to see what happens in a couple weeks, or months, when it’s died down and
gasp
they actually weren’t able to unlock the phone again. Their approach at that point will be very interesting. Or, they get the NSA to actually do it (in probably 36 hours) and they pretend like this never happened.

I just want the All Writs order they got the judge to issue to be overturned so we have a definitive decision that they can’t just do this shit.
